Stanley P. Michael, MD
Assistant Professor
After obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Michael completed residency training in General Surgery followed by a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery in the United Kingdom. He continued his orthopaedic education in the USA, with a year of Fellowship training in Joint Replacement in Seattle, Washington and a one-year Fellowship in Sports Medicine at The Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. During his Orthopaedic Residency and Fellowships his mentors have included John Older, FRCS who was trained by, and inherited the patients of, Sir John Charnley, FRCS, the hip replacement pioneer; and Derek McMinn, FRCS, who designed the Birmingham Hip Surface Replacement.
Dr. Michael was appointed to the full-time faculty of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of The Temple University School of Medicine in 1996. His clinical practice is in the fields of Joint Replacement of the shoulder, hip and knee and Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery of the shoulder, knee and ankle.
